McIntyre's family hail from the West Coast of Scotland. She has a BA Hons in Drawing and Painting from Edinburgh College of Art. She is a founding member of The Arborealists art movement. Her art is inspired by ancient sacred landscape and trees and traditional drawing media some of which she makes from raw materials. McIntyre feels a profound connection to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, their myths and their ancient remains.
