Walking with the dog in the Scottish southern Uplands of Dumfries and Galloway, the Loch of Cornish is an area of the Galloway Hills, a dark sky area, full of drama, forestry, majesty and totally memorable. Sketching and walking are central to my practice.

The tree obsession at the Impasse des Ifs, Nimes. The South of France garden grew large scot pine and olive trees and the pine cones were so noticeable early evening. The trees started taking on an identity of their own and I loved drawing them.
